Le meilleur câble XLR ne doit pas nécessairement être le plus cher
Je peux parler d'expérience ici car j'utilise des câbles XLR pour les haut-parleurs, les microphones et l'enregistrement depuis plus de 20 ans. J'en ai 3 assis dans la boîte à côté de moi et je dois avouer que certains d'entre eux étaient des achats bon marché qui sont revenus me mordre après très peu d'utilisation.
Les Mogami sont développés à Nagano, au Japon. Un pays connu pour son incroyable production HiFI et Audio.
Il y a quelques éléments que vous devez prendre en compte lorsque vous recherchez les meilleurs câbles xlr, mais vous n'aurez pas le contrôle sur tous. Par exemple, vous ne pourrez pas inspecter le blindage intérieur pour savoir à quel point il est bon ou la qualité du câblage et des terminaisons dans les prises, sauf si vous choisissez d'en construire un vous-même.
J'ai acheté des câbles qui ont duré environ 3 concerts et sont morts sans trop d'abus, mais j'ai aussi acheté des câbles xlr bon marché qui ont duré des années.

Voici quelques éléments à rechercher :
- Flexible – les câbles trop rigides peuvent souvent finir par se casser en interne si vous les mettez à l'épreuve. C'est juste mon expérience de parler ici. Idéalement, vous voulez un câble qui permet un bon mouvement et une douceur qui vous permette de déplacer le câble dans différentes positions selon vos besoins.
- Longueur – évident à dire, mais considérez vos besoins futurs ainsi que vos besoins actuels. Vous n'avez pas besoin qu'il soit incroyablement long à moins que vous ne l'exécutiez sur des haut-parleurs à l'arrière d'un auditorium ou d'une salle de conférence. Si vous ne l'utilisez que dans votre home studio, pour votre équipement HiFi ou pour un microphone, vous n'avez besoin de rien de trop long. Si vous avez déjà organisé une conférence, ce que j'ai fait plusieurs fois, c'est incroyable combien de temps vous pouvez obtenir ces choses.
- OFC - comme tous les câbles que nous couvrons, y compris les câbles mmcx ou les câbles à 2 broches pour casque, les câbles OFC sont le noyau et le type de noyau de câble le plus courant. OFC signifie cuivre sans oxygène qui tente d'obtenir un câble sans oxygène à 99,99 % afin de maximiser la conduction du son.
- Connecteurs - généralement, un type de connecteur en argent ou en or est le plus courant. L'argent est le plus courant et, à mon avis, il est suffisant pour presque toutes les applications.

- Connecteurs de câble - généralement, vous n'aurez besoin que d'un câble XLR mâle à femelle, mais vérifiez que c'est bien ce dont vous avez besoin. Si vous utilisez un câble XLR entre un pupitre de contrôle et un microphone, un instrument ou un haut-parleur, vous n'aurez généralement besoin que d'une connexion femelle à mâle. Il est difficile de dépasser ce câble car il coche de nombreuses cases pour un prix abordable. Un boîtier en métal solide et le câble a une belle flexibilité. Il a un noyau en cuivre et le blindage externe est également un blindage en spirale en cuivre. Cela réduit les interférences électromagnétiques (EMI).

This has a soft outer jacket and its internals are a OFC copper. It has copper braided shielding to to block hum and interference.
Why do they say it’s a Pro XLR cable? Well it does have gold plated XLR pins which are purported to have premium sound transference. The connectors are metal and black coated but we can imagine the colour not lasting if you’re using these in heavy use situations. They will last well if you’re plugging them into a more permanent set up like a home or professional studio.
Why we chose the Cable Matters Premium XLR Cable?
The price for a two-pack of XLR cables that will suit most home studio and mobile applications is too hard to go past. While they might not be super high-end these cables will suit most uses for most people.
While I might not recommend these for high-end use, they are sufficient with a decent build-quality and the gold tips are a nice touch. I like the black finish which has a nice look to it.

The connectors have a retro but functional metal spring connector at the base of the steel plugs. This acts to reduce the wear and tear of the cable where it meets the connectors.

So, since we covered the Mogami, which has such a premium reputation, it only seems fitting that we highlight this XLR Best Buy cable which also sits in the premium range. If you want a braided cable with a nice set of connectors with copper conducive cabling, this is a good choice.
I’m not going to lie, the description on this product is layered with ‘tech talk’ to blind you with its awesomeness but you don’t need to understand it all.
It’s a great looking cable in a black brown finish and a braided external cover which is actually surprising in the brown/black finish.

The finish and connectors on this cable feel really high end. Brown might not be your color but if you’re using this at home as a long patch cable or for studio use then color is less important.
